They have first priority on HVP.įlex - We envisioned this role to be a medic/backup of sorts. This is similar in concept to an 'entry fragger'. When they lack range power, their goal is to be exposed and lay bullet down on an enemies' cover so your team can reposition. Breach will be the distraction, first entry in clearing a building, primary flanker, and the closest to an engagement. Breach also receives the majority of grenades of all kinds. An ideal loadout for breach might be an S12K, a Vector/UMP, and a P18. Breach will get last priority on desirable weapons, and first on close range. Breach has two main roles: First one in, and suppressing fire.
Secondary and sidearm priority is second, as is HVP.īreach - This is your early game murder machine type loadout, but built to run a whole round. Their primary responsibility is to act as the mid-range combatant, and will be the second furthest from an engagement. This player gets second priority on overall weapon strength after the sniper. They also have lowest priority on helmet, vest, and pack (HVP).ĭesignated Marksmen - This role typically looks like the traditional 'core' PUBG experience - an AR primary weapon with a mid-range scope (2x/4x) with a decent secondary. Secondary and sidearm priority is relatively low - usually a shotgun or micro uzi/P18 to support them should they get flanked. They also get priority on 7.62 ammo and the AKM in the event no sniper rifle is found or looted. This player will typically be the most removed from an engagement, and is the first to receive a Kar/SKS, the highest magnitude scope, etc. Sniper - Since range and power are the most sought after qualities in PUBG, we designate highest weapon priority to the sniper. We refer to them as Sniper (one), Designated Marksmen (two), Breach (three), and Flex (four). These roles assume an overall gear shortage - we've found it rare to have four AR's with 3+ 8x scopes, so these should help you more effectively divide your gear. These determine overall strategy, individual playstyle, and gear priority. Here we define 4 roles based roughly on the role system of DotA 2.
As gear becomes plentiful, it becomes more about the comms and individual responsibilities. Please do not interpret this as gospel of any kind! I would suggest using what's here to think about your own roles and teams and come up with whatever works for you and is FUN!ĮDIT - Please note that these gear roles are built on the assumption that there will be a gear shortage! It also prioritizes first items towards players who are the most adept at those skills, IE your best sniper gets the first sniper.
As much information in as few words as possible.Īll of this was made for the way we all play together and have fun. Compass call outs are usually 'eyes NW 40m tree right side prone' or whatever the case might be. We use markers to indicate macro path and mark eyes on targets we aren't fighting with. We definitely use the compass and markers! I figured these were mostly being used so I didn't touch on them. The core idea is the first responsibility of the player and everything else is on the fly. Each player has 90% autonomy in what they do and how they do it as well - we aren't commanding flex to run 300m to revive when DM is 5m away. We use this information as a baseline, but games rarely look like this for long. Let me know what you think or how we could improve!ĮDIT: Want to add a couple of notes here based on player feedback. I thought I'd bring this up for you guys in case you wanted to try something similar or create your own system based on ours. We've hit top 10 in almost every other one (Note: We are not good at this game). In our very first two games using it, we came in second. Recently a few of us sat down and came up with a set of roles for both gear and shotcalling. We mostly played 'every man for them self' and had varying levels of success.
My friends and I come from a pretty lengthy line of team games and while we have really come to love PUBG as a group, we have been a little lost as far as how to allocate weapons and comms.
